TURKSOY PAINTING EXHIBITION IN THE NETHERLANDS

The Painting Exhibition of TURKSOY dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, displaying works by artists of the Turkic World and organized in cooperation of TURKSOY with the UETD in the Netherlands  was inaugurated in The Hague within the framework of the 400th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and the Netherlands.

The Painting Exhibition of TURKSOY dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, displaying works by artists of the Turkic World and organized in cooperation of TURKSOY with the UETD and the Eurasian Association of Economic Relations  in the Netherlands within the framework of the 20th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of  Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan was inaugurated in the Hague.

The painting exhibition which was inaugurated at the Turkish Museum in The Hague within the framework of the 400th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and The Netherlands and under the auspices of the chairmanship of the UETD  will be open to visitors until February 21st.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition featuring works by 40 artists from 20 different countries  took place in the presence of the MP of the Ak Party from Istanbul Ismail Safi as well as the Ambassador of Turkey in The Hague Ugur Dogan, the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Turkey Jan Paul Dirkse, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Brussels Erik Utembayev, the Undersecretary of Kazakhstan in The Hague Marat Esenbayev, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassyb of Azerbaijan in The Hague Elhan Alaskerov, TURKSOY Secretary General  Dusen Kaseinov, the Chairman of the UETD in the Netherlands Veyis Gungor, the Chairman of the Eurasian Association of Economic Relations Hikmet Eren and Ass. Prof. Kursad Zorlu from the   Ahi Evran University.

The MP of the Ak Party from Istanbul Ismail Safi who said that this exhibition which is taking place within the framework of the 400th Anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between Turkey and The Netherlands stressed the fact that  both countries have been standing in a relation of mutual friendship to eachother for 400 years.

Mr. Safi who also talked about the trading of tulips which are being used as a symbol of Turkey and the Netherlands and brought wealth to both countries do also stand for friendship, peace and solidarity.

Mr. Safi who also stressed that nearly 400 thousand Turks are living in the Netherlands 300 thousand of which are Dutch citizens, said that these people who are active in all fields of social life  are bringing a positive contribution to the relations between the two countries. 

Events to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between Turkey and The Netherlands

The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Netherlands Ugur Dogan who said that the celebrations organized within the framework of the 400thAnniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between Turkey and The Netherlands have started at the same time in both countries also mentioned that on this occasion high level official  visits, commercial and cultural activities as well as social  events will be taking place throughout the year.

Mr. Dogan who also mentioned that the participation of Turks from the Netherlands in these events is very important, said that the Turkish community of  the Netherlands is planning major events which they also support within this framework.

TURKSOY Secretary General  Dusen Kaseinov who also took the floor at the event said that this exhibition is one of the events which TURKSOY is contributing to through its activities aiming at the promotion of Turkic culture and art with a view to developping cross-cultural dialogue.

Mr. Kaseinov added that this exhibition featuring works by 40 artists from 20 countries is also helping to promote the rich and varied culture of the Turkic World.

Within the framework of the programme  artists from the Turkic Music Ensemble of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey  gave a concert featuring classical Turkish music played on the long neck lute.
